Introduction
Empowering Women Through Financial Wisdom. The Lead Nepal’s Teaching for Learning Project organized a special Community Based Budget Management Program for women of Birendranagar Municipality, Ward No. 4, Samabesi Tole, Nepal, Karnali Province. The program, held on 12th August, Saturday, at The Lead Nepal welcomed 10 enthusiastic women who eagerly absorbed valuable insights and engaged in the various activities of budget management. The goal of a 3-hours long program was to help these participants learn systemic and effective ways of budgeting, manage their income wisely, and encourage them to save for the future.
Program Objective
The primary objective of the Community Based Budget Management Program is to empower these women with vital financial knowledge, emphasizing the significance of budgeting and cultivating a culture of prudent saving. Through interactive sessions, the participants delved into the intricacies of budget planning, resource allocation, and the long-term benefits of disciplined financial practices. However, the session was not just about education; it also celebrated the joy of learning through engaging games, inspirational songs, and spirited dance.

As a gesture of recognition for their active involvement and their dedication to learning and growth, each participant was presented with a certificate of completion. In addition to teaching them effective budgeting techniques, piggy banks were distributed to encourage regular savings and symbolizes the initiation of a journey towards financial independence. These piggy banks serve as tangible reminders of the empowerment that stems from even the smallest savings.
